I bought these as otocinclus. They look very different than my other otos. Are there variations in markings and color?

Looks closest to O.macrospilus.http://www.scotcat.c...macrospilus.htm There are quite a few different species of Otocinclus and they are not the easiest to identify. Your original image is a bit on the small side but may be Otocinclus huaorani is about the nearest.
