Hi All,

A new image gallery has been added and members can now create their own albums. The gallery link is at top of page in the menu bar and you can view your albums from My Controls At the moment myself and medaka are testing it and we are just ironing out some minor blips, so hopefully everything will be working fine. I will be adding a Gallery forum for any questions on the new addition.

You can also add other tropical fishes and tank set-ups as well into your albums if you so wish.
Allan.

I've checked all the settings and I have only Movies that I have disabled so I am not too sure what is happening with your upload problem.
I know that you are pretty clued up on forum workings but I will add this help section anyway as it may help others also.

Creating a Member Gallery

1.) Log into the forums
2.) Click on "My Controls"
3.) Click on "Your Albums"
4.) Click "Create Album"
5.) Place a title and description
6.) Check the box if you would like the album to be public
7.) Click on "Your Albums" again
8.) From the drop down menu click "Upload Image"
9.) Fill out the caption and description
10.) Click "Add Image"
Allan.

Sorry mate I still can't find out what is happening. I have deleted your album and created it again so may be you could try it again tomorrow. I have uploaded another image tonight to my own album with no probs.

Please let me know if the problem continues and then I can post in the IPB forum for some guidance.
Allan.

Works fine for me. Great feature Allan.

Is there a quick way to link to album images to show them in a forum post?

Hi Graham,

Is that what you were looking for.? I copied and pasted the image address in the address bar in the gallery, then straight into your post, or do you mean by clicking the image?

clunk, I will try and get your problem sorted this week on the IPB forum.
Allan.

Hi clunk,

There may be a problem with my host side with the uploading of large images over 7.5 mb. I have changed a line in the kernal.php file so let me know if that changes things. Cheers.
Allan.

Hi clunk,

This is another reply to the problem.

"The image is large - GD is using up over 52MB of memory (your limit) when trying to manipulate it. The only fix would be to increase or remove the memory limit, or for the user to upload a smaller image (filesize, not dimensions)."

I will keep at it and I will also try to add an image to your album, still to find the settings to do that right enough.
Allan.

2.21mb is still a massive size for an image file.

Hi clunk,

I can create albums but i don't have the settings available to upload images to other albums other than my own.

I think there could be a grain of truth in Grahams statement of too large a file at 2.21mb. The largest album at present is Medaka's who has 6 images and his total usage is 2.2mb, so if you could cut down on the file size and try it that way.

BTW there is a new forum now for questions and answers on the gallery, called funnily enough, Gallery, if you would all go there that would be fabie wink.gif
Allan.
