Another pic from the Deep Public Aquarium in Hull, England.
I think they are Mono Angels, nice anyway.

mono's are one of those fishes that spend their adult years in full marine
and enter the estuaries to spawn, the fry usually use the mango
swamps as nurseries before entering the open ocean to mature,
sometimes these can be seen in lfs for sale when quite small in total freshwater,
they quickley die without the addition of salt and die also when trying to mature mainly because there isnt a transistion from freshwater--brackish--seawater..
and i agree they are very nice looking fish.. i even kept 6 when i was 16 yrs of age; and yes i lost the lot shortley after, my lfs at the time (the one i went for at that time for advise) said i had killed them as all the others he had sold are doing fine, so i read up on them . .. and shortly after used a different lfs
My son asked "who was Elton John dad"?
I replied "He played keyboards son, for Marc Bolan"!

Funny enough I did exactly the same thing when I first started up fishkkeeping about 120 years ago  There was two Mono Angels in the dealers tank but they knew nothing about them. They lasted a wee while with me then they died and thats when I started reading books on the fish that I was about to buy.
We all learn and are still learning :)
