First Post and ID help wanted

20 December 2009 - 02:39 AM

All,

My name is Brian Perkins, owner of WildPeru located in the southern Peruvian Jungle town of Puerto Maldonado located about 50 kms from the Bolivian border and 120kms from Brazil. I have been a fishkeeper for many years with particular focus on Killies, Dwarf Cichlids and Cories. If the name WIldPERU seems familiar, there's a reason for that. I have taken over the operation of the business called "Gone Wild Peru" that was operated there for many years by Lance and Belinda Peck. Lance was the guy who rediscovered C. weitzmanni and made lots of other interesting fishy discoveries besides that one in the almost ten years he lived in Southern Peru.

Anyway, I've posted a couple of videos and stills on my blog that I hope you will enjoy, and there's one or two things in there I could use your help on identifying. I'm not all that familiar with the "Plecos." so I posted one shot by Lance of a fish we are trying Identify. So, please surf in and have a look at that one. If you you look back through some of the older posts of mine from a few weeks ago, you'll see a short video of two cories we caught in one stream near town. One of them, Lance Identifies as "C-115", the other is different. Any help here would be appreciated. Also, I posted a long version of the C. weitzmani video I took, that you might want to check out as well.

Here's a few pics from the field also. (Attached)

I look forward to your comments! Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Brian Perkins
