Welcome
to the web site of The North West Cichlid Group (NWCG). The
group was founded in 1989 by the late tropical fish judge
Brian Wilson and a small band of local cichlid keepers. Our
first meeting was held in the Royal British Legion in January
1990, and the group has held its monthly meetings at this
venue ever since. The group has a strong membership base and
is the only cichlid group in the country to hold an annual
open show.We now have over 50 members mainly from Lancashire,
Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and even Yorkshire.
Our Honorary President is Bob Barnes, a renowned breeder of
Rift Valley Cichlids and Catfish. |

of our passion for Discus fish and the contact we have in
this part of the aquarium business, we have created a new

experience. Beside the information we offer we also have a
