Remarks:
This species resembles P.macus,
which is why it has been labeled "species affinis"
(similar kind). In the magazine " The Aquarium" (6/02)
it received the LDA number 67.
It is the Colombian variation of P.macus
and they are thought to grow slightly smaller than the Venezuelan
variant. Care: Provide roots or driftwood in the
aquarium. Diet: They require a mixed
diet of green algae, fresh vegetables such as carrots, courgette's,
spinach, and clean bogwood. Can also be fed most aquarium
fare with live and frozen foods (when inducing a spawning)
but they are predominately vegetarians and wood eaters. |
