Information:
Auchenipterus demerarae
is most similar in appearance to A. nuchalus
(Spix & Agassiz, 1829) but with a lateral band
on the body. Colouration: The sides
of the body are peppered with very fine spots with
a dark median band from the gill-opening to the caudal.
The dorsal and caudal are dusky. The tip of the upper
caudal lobe is sometimes quite dark, the lower fin
is hyaline.
