IUCN Red List

Tachysurus (Rhinobagrus) ussuriensis is known from the Amur river, Russia, to Northern China, as well as the lower reaches of the Yellow River and Jinan, also within the Korea Peninsula. This species is known to be very abundant in the middle of the Amur and its southern tributaries but rare in the upper Amur. However, this species is widespread and while it is possibly declining in parts of its range from ongoing pollution, amateur fishing and weather extremes, it is not thought that any global population decline is likely to meet (or be close to meeting) the threshold for Vulnerable, and therefore the species is assessed as Least Concern (IUCN 2022).
