A new species in 2026 from
the same location as Hoplisoma
sp. (CW218) and H.
sp. (CW219) comes this very
distinctive Brochis sp. which has been given
the Corydoras World CW number of CW220. It has a small
white patch on the upper caudal peduncle which carries
onto the rays of the caudal fin and a yellowish dorsal
fin and a grey face (Fuller I. 2026). Lineage:
Placed in Lineage 8 sub clade 4 which comprises the
"intermediate long-snouts" with deeper bodies.
Aquarium Care: This is akin to most
of this genus, very peaceful, and would be best housed
with small to medium tank mates such as Tetras, Rasboras
and Danios or in a species tank for breeding purposes.
Diet: A good quality flake food and
tablet food for adults with sporadic feedings of frozen
or live food will keep your Brochis in good
health.
