Red List
Scleronema
minutum is frequent and abundant in the lower Río
Uruguay and Laguna dos Patos system, also occurring
in the lower Río Paraná. The species presents
a large EOO (392,393 km2) and no significant were detected
(although the species may be sensitive to vegetation
loss as a result of agricultural expansion; further
research on exact impacts is therefore required). As
such, given its general high abundance and frequency,
the species is classified as Least
Concern, (IUCN 2023).
