Habitat: Known
only from a few specimens caught from some fast creeks
with rocky bottom. The image contributor (M.H.S.)
found this specimen hidden in the crevice of a submerged
log. This species is placed in the genus Phenacorhamdia
in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. Mar. 2011) following DoNascimiento
& Milani (2008), who based the change in genus
on the unpublished work of Bockmann (1998). Remarks: Still found on
some online sources by its synonym, Heptapterus
