Red List
This
species has a restricted distribution (extent of occurrence
(EOO) is estimated as being 2,250 km²) in the Magdalena-Cauca
basin of Colombia and is present in six to nine locations.
There is continuing decline in the extent and quality
of the species' habitat due to pollution with agrochemicals
and erosion and sedimentation from intensive agriculture
in the area. Hence, it is listed as Vulnerable (needs
updating IUCN 2016).
