Mees (1974) assigned this
species to Tatia but Ferraris (2007) reverted
it back to the original genera of Centromochlus.
Just recently (September 2019) a new paper was released
by Bárbara B. Calegariet.
al. whereas this species was reclassified back to
Tatia again. Description:
Body with small, dark, circular spots. First nuchal
plate absent. Male with modified anal fin, the last
two branched rays rudimentary. Maxilla 135-145% of
palatine length; premaxillae in contact with each
other at rostral border of upper jaw; no fleshy flange
present in between. Presence of mental barbels. (Soares-Porto,
L.M. 2000). Etymology:
concolor: uniformly coloured; of the same
colour. Remarks:
Still listed on some internet sources as Centromochlus
concolor.
