Placed in Lineage 1, and when there is a revision
they will stay as Corydoras (Lacépède,

Red List
Corydoras
sarareensis is endemic to Brazil and known from
the Guaporé River basin, Madeira River drainage,
in the border region between Brazil and Bolivia. Although
the collection of specimens for commercial purposes
is authorized, this activity does not appear to harm
the species' survival in the wild. Although population
information is scarce, no significant threats to the
species have been identified. Therefore, C. sarareensis
has been categorised as Least
Concern (IUCN 2022).
