 Relevant Information:  These images by contributor Jean-Francois Helias depict a hybrid between C.  macrocephalus (Asia) and C. gariepinus (Africa) ) these 2 species were caught in a Lake in  Thailand. They are produced in Thailand in a commercial scale for the  food market, as it  is a preferred taste. Pond culture of this species were begun out at the  end of the 1960s  and beginning of 1970s.
