These images by contributor Jean-Francois Helias depict a hybrid between C. macrocephalus (Asia) and C.gariepinus (Africa) ) these 2 species were caught in a Lake in Thailand. They are produced in Thailand in a commercial scale for the food market, as it is a preferred taste. Pond culture of this species was begun at the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1970s.
