There is not a lot known
of this family in the aquatic literature. There are five species
known, N. furcatus Ribeiro, Pedroza & Rapp Py-Daniel,
2011, N. lanceolatus Eigenmann & Eigenmann, 1889,
N. mariai, (Schultz,
1944), N. panamensis (Bussing, 1970), and N. pauciradiatus
Ferraris, 1988. The thumbnail image shown could be one of
those named species or a new discovery. |
