IUCN
Red List
Hypostomus
latirostris is distributed in the upper Paraguay
River basin, in Brazil. Although there is the possibility
that it is a complex of species, H. latirostris
was evaluated as a single specific entity that, due
to its wide distribution, abundance and frequency, was
categorised as Least Concern
(LC). However, taxonomic research is needed to clarify
the real situation of the species (IUCN 2022).
