Rineloricaria
kronei is a species described from the Iporanga
River, Ribeira de Iguape River basin, São Paulo,
whose holotype is missing. Inconsistencies regarding
the taxonomic delimitation of the species hinder its
proper identification. Even so, specimens sampled in
this basin are regularly identified as R. kronei,
being frequent and relatively abundant. Since no direct
threats affecting the populations identified as Rineloricaria
kronei have been identified , it has been categorised
as Least Concern
(LC), (IUCN 2022).
