It has beeen seen in fish shows and labeled as Synodontis irsacae but S. irsacae has black edgings to all paired fins and lacks spots to the dorsal. This undescribed or hybrid species has the regular white barbels sported on Lake Tanganyika Synodontis species. Remarks: We have decided to label each alleged 'hybrid' or unknown Synodontis species with SC numbers (ScotCat numbers) to identify each species exclusive to the ScotCat website. |
