Relevant Information: Type locality: Metum, small swift affluent of the Mechem, trib. of Meping [Chao Phraya drainage], n. Thailand. Holotype: USNM 117754. Paratypes: MCZ 37287 [ex USNM 119824] (1), USNM 119824 (2, now 1). Glyptothorax is distinguished from all other sisorid genera by having an adhesive apparatus on the thorax with with grooves parallel or oblique to the longitudinal axis of the body (vs. thoracic adhesive grooves transverse to the longitudinal axis of the body in Pseudecheneis, and thoracic adhesive apparatus absent in all other genera).
