Description:
As with this genera the head is depressed and broad.
The first rays of the pectoral and ventral fins enlarged
and transversely striated to form an adhesive apparatus.
Habitat: This is primarily a rapids
loving fish so would be a difficult addition to aquaria.
Etymology: The genus name Tremeuchiloglanis:
trëma, hole or opening, referring to larger gill
opening compared with Chimarrichthys, Creteuchiloglanis
and Pareuchiloglanis; Euchiloglanis
(=Chimarrichthys), a generic name used for
a group of Glyptosterninae.
