Relevant Information: Occurs in hill streams and rivers at base of hills. Colour: Uniformly grey with a narrow dark streak along lateral line, ventral surface lighter. Differs from other congeners in having this longitudinal streak along lateral line and without any bars, bands or spots.
Common Name: Malabar batasio

Distribution: Asia: Pamba, Kallada and Chittar River basins, Anaimalai Hill Range, Kerala, India. Type locality: Peruntenaruvi, a tributary of the Pamba River at Edakadathy, Travancore, (species name) India.
Size: 8cm SL ( 3¼ins)
Temp: 24-27°C (75-81°F)
