These particular specimens
were caught in the Paraná River, two miles
from Paraná City and in a small lagoon called
"La Ensenada" by the Image contributor in
2003. There are close on 10, still to be identified
species of Rineloricaria in the
Paraná river basin and we have labeled them
as they are collected as, "Paraná
1" & 11 etc. This species has one filament
on the top lobe of the caudal fin unlike "Paraná
1" which has 2 and it is also lighter in body colouration.
As with all Rineloricaria provide long leaved
plants or bamboo stalks for them to hang on to as
you can see in the second thumbnail image. Diet:
Omnivore. Vegetable food such as cucumber and other
various foods such as tablet, flake and frozen.
