Relevant Information: Was described on the basis of one species which is not now in a very good condition, so the identity of this Synodontis may be problematic in the hobby as there are differences in the spotted pattern from the original description (see thumbnail), and the adipose fin also differs in size.

Distribution: Africa: Ubangi River, Congo River basin. Type locality: l’Ubangi à Banzyville.
