Aquarium Care:
This species is sensitive to temperature and oxygen
levels, so the water should be on the cool side and
well-oxygenated, preferably with a moderate to strong
current. Additional tank decor can be in the form
of large driftwood and/or rocks. Etymology:
The genus name Tremeuchiloglanis: tr?ma,
hole or opening, referring to larger gill opening
compared with Chimarrichthys, Creteuchiloglanis
and Pareuchiloglanis; Euchiloglanis
(=Chimarrichthys), a generic name used for
a group of Glyptosterninae. The specific name robusta:
Latin for of oak or oaken and, by extension, hard,
firm or solid (but often used by ichthyologists to
mean fat or stout), presumably referring to its “elongate,
stout” (translation) body shape. Remarks:
Still found on some online searches as Pareuchiloglanis
robusta or Sineuchiloglanis
robusta (synonyms).
