Relevant Information:

Habitat: Mountain ranges of coastal basins of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil so would probably need lower temperatures in the aquarium. Diet: Will feed on most aquarium fare such as tablet, frozen and live foods. It is an opportunistic predator that mainly feeds on insects, but also will take small crustaceans and plant material (algae and remains of phanerogams). Etymology: Dedicated Dr. E.A. Göldi & Mr. Andreas Göldi.

South America: Mountain ranges of coastal basins of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Type locality: Colonia Alpina, Organ Mts in the Province Rio Janeiro, at an altitude of nearly 2600 feet, Brazil.
