Relevant Information: Synodontis aterrimus was the original name for many years, but the gender of the generic name has been declared feminine, so the name goes back to the original of aterrima. Confused with S.schoutedeni which is nearly twice as large. Not imported very often, but the few species that have made there way to the U. K. have been found to be non problamatic.
