Relevant Information:

Description: Similar looking to Barbeuchiloglanis feae which is found in the Yunnan Province. Habitat: Occurs in running water in hill brooks. Etymology: The genus name Tremeuchiloglanis: trëma, hole or opening, referring to larger gill opening compared with Chimarrichthys, Creteuchiloglanis and Pareuchiloglanis; Euchiloglanis (=Chimarrichthys), a generic name used for a group of Glyptosterninae. The specific name macrotrema: macro-, from makrós, long or large; trëma, hole, referring to larger gill opening compared with Barbeuchiloglanis feae, its presumed congener at the time. Remarks: Still found on some online searches as Pareuchiloglanis macrotrema.

IUCN Red List

Pareuchiloglanis (Tremeuchiloglanis) macrotrema has been assessed as Data Deficient, due to a lack of information regarding species' taxonomy, range, population trends, or direct threats to this species, but it does need updating, (IUCN 2012).
