Pimelodidae

Pimelodidae This South American family is the largest group of naked-skinned catfishes in the world. The vast majority are predatory catfishes. A few species such as the shovelnoses grow too large for the home aquarium. Distinguished from the Indian/Asian family Bagridae, as having no nasal barbels.
